Job summary

Amrize is seeking a Red Seal Journeyman Millwright for our aggregate site in Calgary, Alberta. This hands-on role maintains, repairs and optimizes mechanical operations to maximize uptime across crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps and related equipment.

You will install, align and commission equipment, perform light welding, and support safety programs including LOTO, confined spaces, and PPE compliance. A strong teamwork and safety focus is essential.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Red Seal Millwright with 5+ years' experience.
• Experience maintaining rotating equipment, conveyors, crushers, and gearboxes.
• Proficiency in welding, fabrication, and rigging.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on crushers, screens, belts, pumps and gearboxes.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and perform repairs to minimize downtime.
• Install, align and commission equipment from schematics and manuals.
• Conduct light welding, cutting and fabrication for repairs.
• Operate hoisting, rigging and lifting equipment safely.
• Complete scheduled PM tasks and maintenance records.
• Support plant shutdowns, overhauls and continuous improvement projects.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Red Seal Millwright Journeyperson to maintain, improve and optimize the mechanical operations for our aggregate site. You will be responsible for the installation, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plant equipment to maximize uptime and support continuous production of our crushing operation. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, safety-focused outdoor industrial environment involving crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps, hydraulics, gearboxes, drive systems and related equipment.

What You’ll Accomplish

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment including jaw/cone crushers, vibrating screens, belt conveyors, gearboxes, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and related plant machinery.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures, diagnose issues, and complete repairs or component replacements to minimize downtime.
• Install, align, level, and commission new or relocated equipment using schematics, and technical manuals.
• Conduct light welding, cutting, and basic fabrication as required for repairs and modifications.
• Operate hoisting, rigging, and lifting equipment safely to position machinery and parts.
• Complete scheduled PM tasks, inspections, and accurate maintenance records/work orders.
• Support plant shutdowns, overhauls, and continuous improvement projects.
• Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, fall protection, and site-specific protocols.
• Collaborate with operations, Maintenance Foreman and other maintenance personnel to prioritize work and support production goals.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.

What We’re Looking For

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Required Training/Certifications: Journeyperson Red Seal Millwright 5+ years' experience; equivalent industrial mechanical experience may be considered.

Required Work Experience: Proven experience maintaining rotating equipment, conveyors, crushers, screens, pumps, and gearboxes. Proficient in welding, fabrication and rigging.

Additional Requirements

• Self-starter: Capacity to work as part of a team and independently.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Solid troubleshooting skills on mechanical systems and has a strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of bearings, seals, and lubrication practices and precision alignment.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, at heights, and in confined spaces.
• The ability to operate light mobile equipment, man lifts and cranes.
• Physical ability to lift 50 lbs. Climb ladders, and perform manual work.
• Must be able to walk and stand for periods at a time.
• Must be able to work overtime, weekends, and evenings as required by management.
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
