Job summary

AgeCare Ltd. in Kingsville, Ontario is seeking a Recreation and Volunteer Coordinator to plan, develop, and facilitate a range of recreation and leisure activities that promote wellbeing, purpose, creativity, community, lifelong learning, and fun in our long-term care setting.

You will maintain department records, support quality improvement, manage supplies, and ensure infection control policies are followed.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in recreation/leisure or therapeutic recreation preferred.
• Degree or diploma in related field (kinesiology/gerontology) with relevant experience.
• Provincial Safe Food Handling Certification preferred.
• Certificate in Volunteer Management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and facilitate a variety of meaningful recreation and leisure pursuits that promote wellbeing, purpose, creativity, a sense of community, lifelong learning, and fun.
• Maintain department records and complete documentation as per required timelines (Resident Assessments/Re-Assessments, Care Planning, MDS Coding/RAPs, Progress Notes and Activity Pro).
• Participate in ongoing evaluation of the recreation and volunteer programs and related quality improvement processes.
• Maintain recreation supplies and related tools/resources in good working condition and report deficiencies to the Program Manager.
