AgeCare in Ontario is seeking a Recreation and Volunteer Coordinator to plan and facilitate meaningful recreation and leisure activities that promote wellbeing, purpose, creativity, community, lifelong learning, and fun for residents. This role requires maintaining records, evaluating programs, and managing supplies while adhering to infection control policies.

Salary ranges from CAD 40,000 to CAD 50,000 per year, with placement based on qualifications and experience.

Formación

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies or Therapeutic Recreation.
• Degree or diploma in related fields such as Kinesiology or Gerontology with experience in providing recreation for seniors.
• Provincial Safe Food Handling Certification.
• Certificate in Volunteer Management is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Plan, develop, and facilitate a variety of meaningful recreation and leisure pursuits for residents.
• Maintain department records and complete documentation in a timely manner.
• Participate in ongoing evaluation of programs and quality improvements.
• Maintain recreation supplies and ensure infection control compliance.

The Opportunity

The Recreation and Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for planning, developing, and facilitating a variety of meaningful recreation and leisure pursuits which promote wellbeing, purpose, creativity, a sense of community, lifelong learning, and fun.

What Is In It For You

• Maintains department records and completes all documentation as per required timelines, including: Resident Assessments/Re-Assessments, Care Planning, MDS Coding/RAPs, Progress Notes and Activity Pro.
• Participates in the on-going evaluation of the recreation and volunteer programs and related quality improvement processes.
• Maintains recreation supplies and other related tools/resources in good working condition and as per related infection control policies and procedures, reporting deficiencies to the Program Manager.

What You Will Need

• Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies or Therapeutic Recreation is preferred.
• Degree or Diploma in a related field such as Kinesiology or Gerontology and related experience specific to providing recreation and leisure services in a healthcare setting, preferably with seniors.
• Provincial Safe Food Handling Certification.
• Certificate in Volunteer Management is preferred.

Salary Range: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year

Salary placement based on qualifications and experience.
