Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a part-time Recreation Therapy Aide to support engaging activities that promote residents' well-being in Alberta. You will help plan, document progress, and deliver both scheduled and spontaneous programs in a caring, supportive environment.

You will hold a diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies or a related field, or be enrolled and nearing completion within three years. A Vulnerable Sector Check is required, and some provincial travel may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies or related field.
• Current enrollment in related program with completion within three years of hire.
• Knowledge or experience delivering recreation services in healthcare is an asset.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a care environment.
• Must provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely departmental records and complete required documentation.
• Participate in evaluation of the recreation program and support quality improvement.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are maintained according to infection control standards.
• Work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• May travel within the province for education, training, and meetings as required.
