Job summary

KANNAMPUZHA HOLDINGS LTD. Recreation Aide will assist in planning, organizing, and implementing meaningful programs for residents under the Recreation Director.

Requirements include a college diploma in Recreation or Leisure Studies, experience with seniors, proficiency in Point Click Care, and strong oral and written communication. VPS clearance within 6 months is required; evening and weekend shifts are expected.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run programs for residents with the Recreation Director.
• Evaluate and document residents' progress to meet needs.
• Maintain communication with residents, families, volunteers, and other staff.
• Attend in-services for ongoing education on resident care and recreation.
• Join team meetings to align programs with residents' interests.
• Prepare, run, and evaluate daily activities.
• Assist with meal services as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Evenings and weekends required.

Job Description

Reporting to the Recreation Director, the Recreation Aide will assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and implementing meaningful programs for the residents in conjunction with the Recreation Director
• Evaluating and documenting the progress of the residents to meet their changing physical, mental and social needs
• Maintains effective communication with residents, families, volunteers, and staff of other departments, keeping them informed of current and upcoming events.
• Attends in-services for continuing education on the comfort, care, needs and recreational activities for the residents
• Participates in team meetings to plan programs with residents' interest in mind.
• Preparing, carrying out and evaluating daily activities.
• Assisting with meal services as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Working evenings and weekends

Qualifications

• College diploma in Recreation or Leisure Studies or a related field is required.
• Previous experience working with seniors.
• Proficiency in Point Click Care
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly.
• Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS).
