Job summary

City of Saskatoon is seeking a Recreation Facilities Coordinator to oversee the operation of one or more recreation facilities, including aquatic, fitness and sport programs, ensuring safety and quality service. Reporting to the Facility Supervisor, you will design programs, manage budgets, recruit and develop staff, build partnerships, and communicate policies with partners and the public.

This CUPE 59 role requires a degree or diploma, a valid driver’s license, and a current CRC; term approx.

Qualifications

• University degree in recreation administration, kinesiology, leisure studies, or related field with related experience.
• Diploma in recreation administration or related field with progressive supervisory experience.
• Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.
• Current SGI driver’s abstract demonstrating safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversees activities at recreation facilities and ensures plans meet schedules and safety standards.
• Designs, develops and implements programs and evaluation tools per division plans.
• Assists with operating and capital budgets, forecasts and variance reports.
• Recruits, develops and supervises staff through training and performance management.
• Engages the public to ensure programs address diverse user needs and expectations.
• Develops partnerships with community groups and external agencies for facility use.

Education

Bachelor's degree in recreation administration or related field

Diploma in recreation administration or related field

Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence
