GardaWorld is seeking a Recreation Centre Security Guard in Winnipeg, Manitoba to deliver high-quality security and customer service for clients and visitors. The role emphasizes engaging with people, patrolling premises, and ensuring safety across shifts in environments like office towers, hotels, and shopping centers.

The position offers an hourly wage of CAD 17.70, opportunities for education through GardaWorldAcademy, and permanent night shifts on Fridays and Saturdays, with uniforms

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
• Ability to work overnight shifts in security environments.
• Leadership and problem-solving capabilities for security operations.
• Ability to work well under stress in busy settings.
• Ability to identify and remove unauthorized individuals.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
• Must hold a valid Manitoba security license.
• Certification in security or related field required.
• Proficient with basic phone and computer use.

Responsibilities

• Provide uniformed security to clients and customers/visitors.
• Perform interior and exterior patrols using G-Track device to identify risks.
• Check doors to ensure they are closed and secure against tampering.
• Execute daily security duties including access control and escorts.
• Prepare and file security reports and communicate concerns.
• Act as a visible deterrent to loitering, vandalism, and vagrancy.
• Liaise with visitors and staff to provide information and assistance.
• Handle customer questions and guide visitors as needed.
• Welcome, verify identity, and assist visitors during their stay.
• Respond to incidents, provide first aid, and coordinate with emergency teams.

Responsibilities for Recreation Centre Security Guard

• Providing uniformed, physical security to our client and its customers/visitors
• Scheduled Interior and exterior patrols with G-Track Device to identify potential risks
• Check all doors and ensure they are closed and not jimmied anyway to allow for entrance
• Conducting daily functions of the security unit including access control, security escorts, responding to calls for service
• Report writing/note taking and communicate security concerns
• Visible deterrent to any vagrancy, vandalism, and/or loitering. You must be vigilant in patrolling those areas and be visible walking around
• Liaising with visitors, customers. and the general public on a consistent basis
• Providing customer service information and assist in handling the questions of visitors
• Customer service duties like welcome, verify identity, and guide visitors
• Respond to incidents, provide first aid, and coordinate with emergency teams

Qualifications for Recreation Centre Security Guard

• Good verbal and written communication skills – English is required;
• Be able to work Overnight shifts
• Leadership and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a stressful environment
• Removal ofunauthorized individuals
• Ability to stand on foot and walk for long periods of time
• Be authorized to work in Canada
• Hold a valid Manitoba security license
• Use of Certification required
• Proficient in basic phone & computer skills
