Job Description
The City of Port Moody is seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills for a regular, full-time opportunity as a Recreation Accounting Clerk.

Working closely with the Finance Department, the Recreation Accounting Clerk is responsible for performing basic accounting functions such as invoicing, financial reporting, balancing, reconciling, and processing refunds and revenue generated from various recreation facilities.

This position also coordinates purchase orders, service agreements, contractor compliance, and work orders for Community Services. It provides administrative support for the Health and Safety Committee, trains staff on cash handling procedures, and communicates information to the public regarding refunds and receivables.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Grade 12 supplemented by additional courses in office administration and accounting, plus related experience;
  • 2 to 3 years of accounting, cash handling, and Moneris experience;
  • General understanding of purchasing processes and contract administration;
  • Proficiency in MS Office;
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task in a busy environment;
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills;
  • Knowledge of PerfectMind or similar registration systems (asset); and
  • Knowledge and understanding of community recreation (asset).
