Summary:

Reporting to the Group Sales Manager, the Retail Lead is responsible for overseeing the successful day-to-day operation of a retail store department.

Responsibilities:
  1. Provide supervision and leadership to the team members of the department, in partnership with the manager.
  2. Delegate tasks and work assignments to team members by giving clear and concise directions, and follow up to ensure proper execution.
  3. Foster the growth and development of team members by training on standard operating procedures and processes.
  4. Ensure team members follow all standard operating procedures and systems processes, providing correction and guidance when needed, and reporting violations to the manager.
  5. Perform administrative tasks related to their assigned department.
  6. Provide excellent customer service by identifying and evaluating customers’ needs, and making product recommendations based on this analysis.
  7. Promote company programs to team members and customers.
  8. Maintain visual presentation standards including signage, merchandise recovery/front facing, restocking, remerchandising, dusting, and vacuuming the sales floor as needed.
  9. Respond to and resolve customer issues using good judgment and logic within the scope of the job.
  10. Assist in other store areas when business needs require.
Qualifications:
  1. Two or more years of supervisory experience in a sales or service environment preferred.
  2. Open availability to work store opening and closing shifts, including weekends.
  3. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  4. Ability to evaluate customer needs and make appropriate recommendations.
  5. Ability to provide superior customer service and exceed expectations.
  6. Good judgment and logical thinking skills.
  7. Experience in a related field or outdoor lifestyle preferred.
  8. Knowledge of Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’s products is an asset.
