Job summary

PLASP Child Care Services is seeking an Assistant Director – Before School and After School Program in Brampton. The role requires leading a safe, engaging program in alignment with CCEYA and HDLH guidelines, and supporting daily operations.

Qualifications

ASSISTANTDIRECTOR – BEFORE SCHOOL AND AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

PLASP Child Care Services is a charitable organization operating on a not-for-profit basis, providing high quality early learning and child care, for children up to 12 years of age. PLASP operates in more than240schools providing before school, lunch, and after school programs and 38full-day early learning and child care centres and sixEarlyON locations for children from 0 – 6 years.

The successful candidate will provide a full range of duties, including:

  • Maintaininga safe, warm and caring environment in which a high-qualityextended day program can operate
  • Working collaboratively with other staff to help plan,develop, and implement programsof stimulating age appropriate activities forgroups of children. Activities will promote their physical, social, emotional and intellectual well-being, in accordance with theChild Care Early Years Act (CCEYA),How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH?)and the guidelines established by PLASP for all program components including P.A. Days
  • Supportingtheorderingoffoodfor the program,andpreparing nutritious breakfast and snackswhile adhering tothe guidelines of the Canada Food Guide,and in accordance with the rotational snack planner
  • In the Program Director’s absence,beingresponsibleforalladministration of the program, including registration, record-keeping, health and safety monitoring and ordering of supplies
  • In the Program Director’s absence,operating programs according to theMinistry of Education (MEDU)standards and ensures the CCEYA license is in good standing
  • Participating fully in P.A. Days, by providing safe, reliable care on and off school premises
  • An ECE degree/diploma and be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE) or have a Child Youth Worker/Care diploma (CYW/CYC) or Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) in good standing
  • A minimum 2years’ experience in child care and community service organization (experience in supervision of staff preferred)
  • Knowledge of theChild Care Early Years Act (CCEYA)andMinistry of Education Licensing requirements
  • A valid Standard First Aid Certificate, with level C CPR
  • A valid Criminal Reference Check – Vulnerable Sector
  • All health requirements (immunizations) to be met in accordance with theCCEYAandMedical Officer of Health
