Job summary

PLASP Child Care Services is seeking an Acting Program Supervisor for an after school program at Saint Cecilia Catholic Elementary School in Toronto. The role focuses on creating a safe, warm and caring environment and supervising children to deliver a high-quality extended day program.

Responsibilities

• Establishing and maintaining a safe, warm and caring environment in which a high-quality extended day program can operate
• Ensuring that the supervision and safety of the children is maintained at all times
• Working cooperatively with all staff to help plan, develop, and implement age-appropriate activities
• Support in daily preparation of nutritious breakfast and snacks within guidelines
• Participating in monthly staff meetings for program planning and problem solving
• Knowledge of CCEYA and licensing requirements

• Workingcooperatively with all staff tohelpplan, develop, and implement a program of stimulating age appropriate activities for groups ofchildren, whichwill promote their physical, social, emotional and intellectual well-being, in accordance with the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA),How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH?)and the guidelines established by PLASP for all program components including P.A. Days
• Supportingin the daily preparation of nutritious breakfast and snacks within the guidelines of the Canada Food Guide
• Participatingin monthly staff meetings for the purpose of program planning and problem solving
• An ECE degree/diploma and be registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE) or have a Child Youth Worker/Care diploma (CYW/CYC) or Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) in good standing
• Knowledge of the Child Care Early Years Act (CCEYA)and Ministry of EducationLicensing requirements
• A valid Standard First Aid Certificate, with level C CPR
• A valid Criminal Reference Check – Vulnerable Sector
• All health requirements (immunizations) to be met in accordance with the CCEYAand Medical Officer of Health
