Job summary

You will work with Bed Management, Patient Flow, and Surge strategies, handle EMR entries, educate patients on financial obligations, and participate in daily bed management meetings.

Qualifications

• Medical terminology certificate or completion within 3 months of hire.
• Graduate of a Medical Office Administration Program or equivalent combination of post‑secondary education and/or relevant experience, required.
• Health Information Certified Associate (HICA) designation and CHIMA membership or eligibility and plan to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate admissions, discharges, and transfers with real-time tracking of patient movement.
• Register patients in Emergency Department and Central Registration to ensure timely access to care.
• Educate patients on financial obligations and collect consent and payment information.
• Maintain 24/7 bed census oversight and support bed utilization optimization and surge strategies.
• Enter accurate registration data into the EMR for downstream clinical and administrative use.
