THE ROLE

STRIVE Recruitment is partnering with a versatile legal firm specializing in business, insurance, and personal litigation. Our client, a Canadian-based firm in Vancouver, seeks a Real Estate Paralegal.

As a Paralegal supporting a team of two, you should work well independently and collaboratively. The role offers a competitive salary and benefits, including health and dental plans, a matching RRSP program, and an employee assistance program.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret and act upon instructions from lenders, ensuring legal and procedural compliance.
• Liaise with borrowers and lenders to obtain authorizations and documentation for due diligence.
• Conduct due diligence searches (Land Title Office, Corporate Registry, PPR).
• Draft and review security and loan documents per legal standards.
• Prepare and issue Preliminary Reports on Title.
• Coordinate with the borrower's solicitor for document exchange.
• Organize disbursement of funds with stakeholders.
• Register security documents with authorities.
• Draft final reports and conduct post-registration searches.
• Compile and deliver final reporting packages.
• Maintain organized file systems, physical and digital.
• Support conveyancers as needed.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Paralegal program.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in Lending and Real Estate law.
• Strong knowledge of the Land Title Act and Personal Property Security Act, including filings.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; adaptable to legal software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with discretion for confidential info.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
