Job summary

Axiom is seeking a Commercial Real Estate Lawyer based in Ontario to join our Toronto team. You will advise municipalities and clients on commercial real estate matters, handle acquisitions, development, and regulatory compliance, and draft leases and related agreements.

Qualified candidates have 8+ years of Ontario real estate experience, active Law Society of Ontario membership, and excellent negotiation and client advisory skills.

Qualifications

• Based in Ontario with active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario real estate laws.
• 8+ years of experience with purchase, sale, financing, development, and operation of commercial leasing for major developers, retailers, financial institutions, lenders or pension funds.

Join Our Team as a Real Estate Lawyer at Axiom

Location: Toronto

We are currently seekingCommercial Real EstateLawyers to work with municipalities on matters related to commercial real estate management and funding of real estate ventures. This is an existing vacancy.

Responsibilities:

• Working with and advising corporate clients directly regarding commercial real estate matters, including purchase and sale of commercial property, acquisitions of business with a real estate component, development, and regulatory compliance.


• Drafting and negotiating leases, amendments, assignments and renewals


• Assisting with portfolio management and due diligence review, including environmental assessments

Qualifications:

• Based in Ontario with active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario


• Strong knowledge of Ontario real estate laws


• 8+ years of experience with the purchase, sale, financing, development and operation of commercial leasing while representing major developers, retailers, financial institutions, lenders or pension funds


• Prior experience advising on funding of real estate ventures


• Experience working independently and cross-functionally and taking on complex projects


• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively advise clients and collaborate with project stakeholders

Compensation:

The estimated total compensation for full‑time Axiom attorney roles is $104,500-325,000 per year and for non‑attorney roles is $71,250-309,750 per year.Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs.
