Job summary

Axiom is seeking Labour & Employment Lawyers to advise employers across a range of industries. You will handle workplace matters, investigations, compensation and benefits, and labour relations, working with HR and business leaders to manage risk.

This role emphasizes practical guidance and cross-functional collaboration in Ontario and across Canada. Applicants should have 4+ years of labour and employment experience, be licensed in Ontario, and able to navigate complex regulatory environments

Qualifications

• Experience advising employers and HR on workplace matters in Ontario/Canada.
• Ability to provide practical legal guidance cross-functionally.
• Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal counsel to employers on a range of labour, employment, and workplace matters, including employee relations, workplace policies, terminations, accommodations, leaves, and other employment issues.
• Conduct or advise on workplace investigations, including allegations of harassment, discrimination, misconduct, retaliation, and other employee complaints.
• Advise on compensation, pension, and benefits matters, including employment-related compensation programs, incentive arrangements, pension and retirement plans, and employee benefit programs.
• Counsel employers on labour relations matters, which may include collective agreements, unionized workforces, grievances, arbitrations, collective bargaining, and labour disputes.
• Partner with HR, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and business leaders to identify and manage employment-related legal and regulatory risks.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of legal experience in one or more of the following areas: employee investigations; compensation, pension and benefits; general employment law; or labour relations, preferably with in-house experience
• Experience advising employers and HR teams on workplace matters and applicable Ontario and Canadian employment and labour laws
• Strong ability to provide practical legal guidance and work cross-functionally with HR and business stakeholders
• Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario

Compensation

The estimated total compensation for full-time Axiom attorney roles is $114,000-250,000 per yearand for non-attorney roles is $64,000-201,000 per year. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs. Employees may be eligible for additional benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance; paid holidays and PTO; flexible work arrangements; and professional development opportunities and tools.
