Job summary

This role requires 4+ years in related areas, familiarity with Ontario and Canadian employment laws, and the ability to provide practical guidance across HR and business teams.

Qualifications

• Counsel employers on labour relations matters, which may include collective agreements, unionized workforces, grievances, arbitrations, collective bargaining, and labour disputes.
• Partner with HR, employee relations, benefits, compensation, and business leaders to identify and manage employment-related legal and regulatory risks.

We are currently seeking Labour & Employment Lawyers to work with our clients at some of the world’s largest companies across a range of industries.

The ideal candidate will have experience advising employers on workplace matters, with a background in one or more of the following areas: employee investigations; compensation, pension and benefits; general employment law; or labour relations. Candidates do not need experience across all areas.

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• 4+ years of legal experience in one or more of the following areas: employee investigations; compensation, pension and benefits; general employment law; or labour relations, preferably with in-house experience
• Experience advising employers and HR teams on workplace matters and applicable Ontario and Canadian employment and labour laws
• Strong ability to provide practical legal guidance and work cross-functionally with HR and business stakeholders
• Licensed and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario

Compensation:

The estimated total compensation for full-time Axiom attorney roles is $114,000-250,000 per yearand for non-attorney roles is $64,000-201,000 per year. Compensation decisions are based on various factors, including, but not limited to, experience, skills, certifications, location, and business needs. Employees may be eligible for additional benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance; paid holidays and PTO; flexible work arrangements; and professional development opportunities and tools.
