Timbercreek Financial Corp. seeks an Associate, Investments (Debt) to support the Canadian platform across the full investment cycle—from deal sizing and structuring to closing and ongoing asset management. The role blends real estate, finance, and analytics in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in real estate or structured finance, strong modeling skills, and familiarity with CRE markets; bilingual French/English is a plus. Hybrid work model.

Formación

• Minimum 3 years of experience in Real Estate, Structured Finance, Private Equity, Private Debt, Investment Banking, Fund Management or a major financial institution.
• Strong ability to perform financial modeling and run valuation analysis as part of the underwriting process.
• Direct transactional experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of the commercial real estate sector and/or capital markets is considered an asset.
• Experience with commercial real estate software (i.e. CoStar and Argus) is considered an asset.
• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business/Commerce, Real Estate, Engineering or Mathematics.
• MBA, CAIA, CFA or CPA is considered an asset.
• Background in due diligence review of pertinent loan documents (credit agreements, intercreditor agreements, leases, JV agreements).

Responsabilidades

• Review and assess new mortgage investment opportunities on commercial real estate asset classes including office, retail, industrial, residential, hotels, land and development projects.
• Underwrite deals from preliminary proformas to detailed financial models with minimal support.
• Conduct market research as required.
• Correspond with borrower, mortgage & real estate brokers, and other industry professionals to validate assumptions.
• Conduct due diligence on the credit worthiness of sponsors/clients and other financial data relevant to transactions.
• Identify risks and mitigants and provide feedback to Global Credit team.
• Prepare term sheets and/or commitment letters consistent with preliminary underwriting and pre-approved deal structure.
• Provide potential investment partners with underwriting and transaction materials to support syndication activities.
• Coordinate with Origination and other teams during due diligence and closing.
• Support asset management including renewals, fundings, restructurings and annual reviews.
