Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly reconciliations, journal entries and accounting for the portfolio of properties
• Assist in accounting for acquisitions and dispositions including preparation of statement of adjustments
• Provide variance analysis of the balance sheet and income statement on a quarterly basis
• Prepare quarter-end and year-end working papers
• Liaise with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits
• Ensure invoices are coded appropriately for a portfolio of entities and collaborate with other departments to ensure invoices are paid in a timely manner
• Initiate and record electronic payments in the accounting system
• Liaise with property management and other departments for information and inquiries
• Set up schedules and update records for management reporting
• Assist with other department functions as required

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in accounting or business
• 1-2 years of accounting experience
• Experience with Yardi Voyager and Elevate is an asset
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Ability to prioritize workload and multitask under tight deadlines
• Well-organized, analytical, proactive problem solver with high attention to details
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
