Job summary

Finlay Jude Associates Limited is seeking a Trainee Field Technician to join our local water-leak survey team. The position involves fieldwork and training will be provided to learn underground leak detection.

You will assist in surveys, support leak detection operations, and help with survey work beyond day-to-day tasks. A full driving licence is essential and a company van is provided to enable field duties.

Qualifications

• Full driving licence (or equivalent) is essential.
• Willingness to work in field environments.
• Training will be provided on leak detection and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Assist in detailed surveys to identify water leakage locations.
• Support leak detection by assisting repair crews.
• Contribute to survey/work tasks beyond routine leak detection.
• Complete paperwork accurately (timesheets, survey forms, leak details).
• Use a laptop to upload data and maintain records.
• Drive as required for the role with a full driving licence.

My client is recruiting for Trainee Field Technicians who will be covering your local area.

The successful candidate will be trained to find water leaks on the underground water networks.

This role is working days - 40 hours per week.

This is a temporary to permanent role for the right candidate.

Trainee Field Technician responsibilities:

• To assist in detailed surveys to identify the type and location of water leakage
• Assist repair gangs by providing leak detection services
• Assist in survey work/project work not normally associated with day-to-day leak detection
• To assist in adequate and accurate completion of all paperwork (including time sheets, survey forms, leak details and other duties as required
• Possess basic computer skills as you will be uploading data onto a laptop
• It is essential that you hold a full and valid driving licence as you are required to drive for the role.

Full training will be given on the following:

• EUSR Water Hygiene Training

This Trainee Field Technician role would suit candidates with the following:

• Drivers / Driving (Multi Drop, Meter Readers, Delivery Drivers)
• People with a manual working/outdoor background
