Job summary

We are recruiting an experienced Deputy Children's Home Manager to join a residential children's home in Sutton, South London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

The successful candidate will support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring that children and young people receive high-quality care, guidance and support within a safe, stable and nurturing environment.

You will play a key role in leading the staff team, maintaining high standards of care and ensuring the home meets Ofsted regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager with the effective day-to-day management of the children's home.
• Help provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for children and young people.
• Support children and young people with EBD, promoting their emotional well-being, personal development and independence.
• Lead, supervise and support residential childcare staff.
• Ensure care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures are followed.
• Promote positive behaviour and use appropriate strategies to manage challenging situations.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation meets regulatory requirements.
• Support the implementation of policies and procedures in line with children's homes regulations and safeguarding standards.
• Work collaboratively with social workers, families, education providers and other professionals.
• Assist with staff training, supervision and development.
• Support the home in maintaining high standards during Ofsted inspections.
