Job summary

Paladin Security is seeking a Rapid Response Guard to cover sites across Oakville, Milton, Burlington and Georgetown. You will patrol diverse environments, operate CCTV/alarms, control access, and respond to emergencies with a professional, calm demeanor.

The role requires a valid Ontario Security License with First Aid & CPR Level C, a reliable vehicle, and the ability to pass an N95 fit test. Training opportunities and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Valid Ontario Security License & First Aid & CPR Level C.
• Immunization records for MMR Varicella and TB test.
• Must own a reliable vehicle and have a valid license.
• G-License preferred.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Education in Police Foundations/Criminology/PSI/Border Services is an asset.
• Pass a N95 mask fit test with clean shaven.
• Able to walk/climb stairs for long periods.
• Certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and MOAB or enroll in Paladin training.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols at assigned sites to ensure safety and security.
• Operate CCTV and alarm panels; report suspicious activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas and enforce site policies.
• Respond to emergencies and assist during evacuations.
• Greet and assist visitors professionally and provide directions.
• De-escalate conflicts and maintain calm under pressure.
• Document incidents and maintain security logs.
• Travel between multiple site locations as assigned.

Position Overview:

As a Rapid Response Guard, you will work at various sites across Oakville, Milton, Burlington and Georgetown including industrial, retail, healthcare, and office buildings. This dynamic role requires flexibility and quick adaptability to different environments. Site assignments are provided shortly before each shift, so you must be ready to deploy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular patrols at assigned sites, including industrial, retail , healthcare , and office towers, to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
• Operate security systems such as CCTV cameras and alarm panels, and promptly report any suspicious or unauthorized activity to appropriate authorities.
• Monitor and control access to restricted areas, ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted entry in accordance with site-specific protocols.
• Respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies including medical incidents, fire alarms or other security threats; assist staff and patrons during evacuations or critical incidents as required.
• Greet and assist visitors, clients, staff, and tenants in a professional and courteous manner; provide directions and ensure compliance with site policies.
• De-escalate tense or disruptive situations, resolve conflicts professionally, and maintain a calm presence under pressure across various environments.
• Accurately document site activities, incidents, and observations; complete incident reports, security logs, and breach documentation in a timely manner.
• Enforce site-specific policies and procedures.
• Travel between different site locations as assigned.

Requirements:

• Valid Ontario Security License & First Aid & CPR Level C from a WSIB approved provider
• Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two step TB skin test
• Must own a reliable vehicle
• G-License preferred
• Fluent in English (oral and written)
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
• Education in Police Foundations, Criminology, PSI, or Border Services is considered an asset
• Able to provide a clean shaven face in order to pass a N95 mask fit test
• Ability to walk/climb stairs throughout the premises for longer periods of time
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
• Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
