Job summary

Transco Rail Services is seeking a Railcar Technician to assist with repair work in a safe, responsible environment. You will organize tool areas, service railcar components, and perform exterior/interior repairs and paint prep under a strict safety policy.

The role requires welding experience, ability to work at heights, and willingness to pass in-house weld tests. Training will be provided; site duties include outdoor work in varying weather and heavy equipment operation.

Qualifications

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Previous railcar repair experience and knowledge of AAR standards an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with repair requirements of customers while maintaining safety.
  • Organize tool areas and maintain the facility.
  • Service and repair railcar components (hoppers, gates, top hatch covers, running boards, brake shoes, etc.).
  • Work at heights and in confined spaces; exterior/interior repairs and paint prep.
  • Adhere to health and safety standards and document quality checks.

Serving freight and tank car fleets across multiple industries, we are committed to safety, compliance, quality, and reliable service.**Job Summary:**The Railcar Technician will be responsible for assisting with the repair requirements of the customers while completing work in a safe and Responsible Care environment.* Organizing all tool areas and maintaining the facility* Servicing, repair and replacement of rail car components, including:* Hopper gates, top hatch covers, running boards, brake shoes, knuckle pins, truck springs, bearing adaptors, friction casting wear plates, etc.* Working from heights and in confined spaces* Exterior/Interior corrosion repairs* Exterior/Interior paint preparation, repairs and stenciling* Inspection and repair of safety appliances* Assisting in setup and teardown of safe work areas* Working both inside the facility and outdoors as required, in all weather conditions* Adhere to health and safety standards, including Procor’s Responsible Care policy* Additional related duties as assigned* Training will be provided by Procor to develop competency in the above tasks* **The regular working hours of this position are as follows:*** 10 & 12 hour shift rotation based on a 40 hour week.
