Job summary

WSP is seeking a Risk Manager, Rail & Transit, to join our Transportation Systems team across Canada (Calgary, Toronto, Montreal). You will apply risk management processes, drive proactive risk strategies in project planning, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful outcomes.

The role requires leading workshops, maintaining risk registers, and delivering clear risk reports. A strong engineering or construction background with 8+ years of relevant experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in project management or project controls within civil infrastructure or construction.
• Proven ability to facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement with clarity and confidence.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Analytical mindset with a structured approach to solving complex project challenges.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related analytical discipline—or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging workshops and risk meetings to identify, assess, and prioritize project risks, and guide teams in developing effective mitigation strategies.
• Partner with risk owners and project teams to build, monitor, and refine treatment plans that align with project goals.
• Maintain and update comprehensive risk registers using the designated risk database.
• Perform schedule and cost risk modeling to establish confidence levels and quantify potential impacts.
• Deliver clear, actionable risk reports tailored to project team needs and decision-making.
• Collaborate with scheduling and cost control teams to embed risk management into broader project controls.
• Champion a culture of risk awareness and resilience across project teams.
