Job summary

WSP is seeking a Signalling Engineer to join the Rail & Transit team in Canada. You will shape safe, reliable signaling solutions for commuter, light, and heavy rail projects. You’ll collaborate with engineers, project managers, and specialists to deliver complex signaling work.

You will develop processes, execution plans, and mentor junior staff, with leadership support to grow within a consulting environment.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.), or eligibility to apply.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Railway Signaling in both CBTC and relay-based systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or equivalent CAD software.
• Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
• Knowledge of CROR, AREMA, and Transport Canada GCR/GCS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and analyze signal systems for transit and heavy rail, CBTC and relay-based.
• Prepare detailed calculations, drawings, specifications, procurement documents and cost estimates.
• Check signals and circuit designs for accuracy within the team or from third-party sources.
• Create signaling schemes compliant with industry standards and client specs.
• Interact with clients to discuss technical topics and manage expectations.
