Job summary

WSP is hiring a Risk Manager, Rail & Transit, to join our Transportation Systems team in Canada (Calgary, Toronto, Montreal). This role focuses on applying integrated risk management processes across complex infrastructure projects and embedding risk strategies into planning and execution.

You will lead workshops, maintain risk registers, and collaborate with project teams to deliver proactive risk mitigation and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in project management or project controls within civil infrastructure or construction.
• Ability to facilitate workshops and engage stakeholders clearly and confidently.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface across multidisciplinary teams.
• Analytical mindset with a structured approach to solving complex project challenges.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related analytical discipline (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

• Lead engaging workshops and risk meetings to identify, assess, and prioritize project risks and guide teams in developing mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with risk owners and project teams to build, monitor, and refine risk treatment plans aligned with project goals.
• Maintain and update risk registers using the designated risk database.
• Perform schedule and cost risk modeling to establish confidence levels and quantify potential impacts.
• Deliver clear, actionable risk reports tailored to project team needs and decision-making.
• Work with scheduling and cost control teams to embed risk management into broader project controls.
• Promote a culture of risk awareness and resilience across project teams.

Compensation

• BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $98,800 – $130,800
• MB & ON: $90,100 – $124,100
• Atlantic Provinces & Québec: $89,200 – $118,500
