Job summary

Alstom is hiring a Production Operator in Kingston, Ontario. You will work on dedicated shopfloor workstations assembling and inspecting signaling and electrical equipment, ensuring quality and on-time delivery.

You will set up and operate production equipment, conduct basic testing, and support continuous improvement in a safety-focused environment. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams on a major rail signaling project.

Qualifications

• Technician with electronics, electrical or mechanical know-how.
• Technical diploma in electronics, electrical or mechanical domain preferred.
• Ability to perform electrical and minor mechanical assembly.
• Ability to read a technical drawing for assembly and components.
• Familiar with measurement and torqueing tools.
• Capable of using crimping tools and jigs.
• Capable to identify problems and follow instructions precisely.
• Strong teamwork and accuracy in a production setting.

Responsibilities

• Handle, store goods and raw materials in the factory.
• Set up production equipment: robot, machine, workstation, test bench, inspection tool, warehouse equipment.
• Clean and maintain working areas and production equipment.
• Perform manufacturing / production / test tasks as planned by the MRP.
• Respect task time and quality level as per instructions and MRP routing.
• Identify parts as required by operating instruction.
• Monitor production and perform basic testing and quality checks.
• Deliver production plan on time with quality, cost and delivery targets.
• Alert Team Leader on process drift or quality problems.
• Complete tally sheets in the MRP tool when requested.
• Pack goods ready for shipment.
• Comply with EHS rules.
