Job summary

Cando Rail & Terminals in Canada is seeking Conductors to provide safe and efficient rail car switching on customer sites and at our terminals. If you enjoy outdoor work, physical activity, problem solving, and a company with a strong safety culture, this opportunity is for you.

As part of a team, you will operate locomotives, apply switching procedures, perform inspections, and complete daily reports. We offer training programs and a supportive environment with fixed schedules and benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read and understand safety briefings, manuals and switching lists.
• Willing to work up to 12 hours per shift in all weather, including day and night shifts.
• Must pass safety, medical, and background checks as required by Cando and regulators.
• Experience in industrial or rail operations is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe locomotive operation, briefings, and protection of train, track and equipment.
• Follow CROR rules, perform switch and derail operations, and manage air hoses and brakes.
• Conduct daily locomotive inspections and document reports and logs.
• Support operations on site and uphold company safety culture.
• Maintain clean, orderly locomotives and work areas; provide excellent customer service.
