Job summary

Canada Diagnostic Centres is seeking a Radiology Coach for the Edmonton region to lead and support the local Radiology team, ensuring timely, personalized care across clinics.

The role collaborates with radiologists, clinical leaders, and operations to refine workflows and improve performance while maintaining safety and accreditation standards. This is a clinic-based leadership position requiring travel between sites.

Responsibilities

  • Review technologists’ skill maintenance and implement training programs.
  • Manage budget planning and staffing within allotted clinic budgets.
  • Provide operational coverage and execute accreditation submissions as needed.
  • Travel between Edmonton area CDC clinics to support operations.

We are currently seeking a Radiology Coach to join our expanding team in the greater Edmonton area. In this role, you will lead and support the development of the local Radiology team, helping ensure the delivery of timely, personalized care. Working collaboratively with radiologists, clinical leaders and teams, operational departments and leadership groups, you will strengthen daily operations and improve performance across clinics while identifying opportunities to refine workflows as needs evolve. Leading with intention, you will help shape the systems, culture, and working environment that support the consistent delivery of remarkable care.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Management of Technologists including; overseeing vacation approvals, payroll adjustments/approvals, leave management, performance issues in collaboration with the X-Ray Team Leads and People & Culture.
  • Develop and support X-ray Team Leads to strengthen in-clinic leadership, coaching, teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and staff development.
  • Work closely with Radiologist to assess the effectiveness of protocols, address staffing and technologist-related needs, and identify opportunities for radiologist-led education.
  • Regularly review technologists’ skill maintenance, planning and implementing training programs based on site needs.
  • Collaborate with other coaches, leaders and counterparts to ensure parties are aligned and operational needs are addressed efficiently throughout sites and between various areas of the organization.
  • Participate in annual budgetary preparation and manage resources (including staffing) at assigned clinics within budget guidelines and ensure the radiology teams comply to budgetary requirements, enabling the greatest potential for operational and patient care targets are met.
  • Support the Director of Operations, Edmonton with departmental projects including equipment purchases, and renovation planning.
  • Effectively work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure operational and patient care targets are met.
  • Ensure staff technologists follow imaging protocols and company policies and assist in implementing new techniques and protocols.
  • Actively participate in meetings with post-secondary institutions to review industry needs and program delivery.
  • Manage hiring and onboarding of new technologists.
  • Review and finalize all radiology-related CPSA accreditation submissions and responses.
  • Provide coverage for the Calgary area Radiology Manager as needed.
  • Contribute to discussion with the Senior Leadership Team regarding future business opportunities, optimizing care, and innovations in service delivery.
  • Provide clinical coverage to the X-Ray team when needed to support operations.
  • Ensure compliance of radiation safety and protection policy along with associated codes of practice.
  • Represents CDC at provincial and national events.
  • Effectively de‑escalate and resolve patient concerns or complaints.
What We’re Looking For
  • Active membership with the CAMRT and ACMDTT.
  • Education and experience as a technologist across radiographic modalities (Mammography I and II, General Radiography, Fluoroscopy and Bone Densitometry certification).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staffing, scheduling, performance, and resolve conflict.
  • Inspirational and empathetic, with strong communication skills, and the ability to create cohesion across multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office and patient management systems (e.g., RIS), along with an understanding of departmental equipment.
  • Knowledge of facility management, inventory control, clinic performance metrics, and clinic workflows, processes, protocols and regulations.
  • Familiarity with requirements of the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta Accreditation Standards.
  • Ability to develop and strengthen relationships with healthcare providers and community organizations.
  • A track record of executing multiple initiatives from planning through to completion.
  • A history of engaging in professional growth and development.

Additional Information
  • Clinical Responsibilities: The position is dedicated entirely to leadership and operational responsibilities, with no scheduled clinical duties. The successful candidate will provide clinical support only in response to operational staffing emergencies.
  • Position Type: Permanent; Full-Time. Open to candidates who are available to work at least 40 hours per week.
  • Location: This role is clinic‑based; candidates can be based at any CDC clinic in Edmonton, with expectation of travelling between clinics as required.
