About the Opportunity

The Quality Control (QC) Tech works under the direction of the Manager, Technical Services, and the supervision of the Head of Diagnostic Medical Physics. With considerable latitude for initiative and independent action, the QC Tech has responsibility for implementation of quality control procedures pertaining to image quality, imaging equipment, radiation safety, and training of Diagnostic Imaging (DI) Staff and Students.

Travel to other sites may be required.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Radiological Technology
  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) certification
  • Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent and relevant experience required
  • Completed advanced courses in Imaging Quality Control, Digital Imaging Techniques and/or Radiation Safety preferred
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Ability to use time effectively by organizing and prioritizing duties, while working independently and under minimal supervision
  • Possess the physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position
  • Demonstrates initiative, organizational, and prioritizing skills; and demonstrated the ability to work collaboratively within inter-professional teams
  • Comprehension of the technical language to be able to review and use manuals and take part in relevant discussions
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours
  • Long assignment part-time position; 60 hours biweekly
  • Approximately 8 months
  • Shift work and call required, evenings, nights, and weekends
Compensation and Benefits

$36.31 - $44.08 hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
