Department/Program: DI Mammography, Diagnostic Services & Maritime Medical Genetics

Type of Employment: Permanent Full-Time (100% FTE), 2 positions available

Start Date: ASAP

Compensation: $33.20 - $41.44/hour

Sign-on Bonus: $7,000 one-time signing bonus, with a two-year Return of Service obligation

The Opportunity

The mammography technologist, under supervision, operates radiological and accessory equipment for mammography, breast ultrasound, and interventional procedures. Responsibilities include performing quality screening and diagnostic mammography, assessing requisitions, obtaining patient history, selecting techniques, positioning patients, operating X-ray equipment safely, maintaining sterile techniques, and managing patient care clerically.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 75 hours biweekly, between 7:30 am and 5:00 pm

Your Qualifications
  • Graduate of an approved Radiological Technology program
  • Current or eligible registration with NSCMIRTP
  • Recent BLS certification (within last 12 months)
  • Experience in mammography positioning, breast ultrasound, and interventional procedures preferred
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good manual dexterity and visual acuity
  • Willingness to pursue continuing education for CAR Mammography Accreditation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Language skills in additional languages are an asset
