Placements24 is seeking a specialized Radio Network Planner in Kimberley to design and optimize wireless infrastructure. You will perform RF site surveys, model coverage with Atoll/Planet, and translate requirements into practical network designs for 2G–5G deployments.

Applicants should hold an engineering degree, have proven RF planning experience, and strong analytic and collaboration skills to work with deployment and operations teams across the Northern Cape.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in radio network planning and optimization for mobile networks.
  • Proficiency with RF planning tools such as Atoll and Planet.
  • Strong understanding of radio propagation, antenna theory, and cellular technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and design radio access networks (RAN) for mobile systems (2G/3G/4G/5G).
  • Perform RF site surveys to identify optimal base station locations.
  • Use planning tools to simulate performance, predict coverage and optimize capacity.
  • Develop detailed network rollout plans considering propagation, interference and regulations.
  • Analyze network data and recommend improvements for coverage and QoS.
  • Collaborate with deployment and operations teams to implement designs in Kimberley.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a specialized Radio Network Planner to join their team in Kimberley . This role is integral to the design and optimization of their wireless network infrastructure, ensuring efficient coverage and capacity across designated areas. You will utilize advanced planning tools and deep technical knowledge to create robust network designs. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, a keen understanding of radio propagation, and the ability to translate technical requirements into practical network solutions within the telecoms framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and design radio access networks (RAN) for mobile communication systems, including 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies.
  • Perform RF site surveys and analyses to identify optimal locations for new base stations.
  • Utilize network planning tools to simulate network performance, predict coverage, and optimize capacity.
  • Develop detailed network rollout plans, considering factors such as propagation, interference, and regulatory constraints.
  • Analyze network performance data and recommend improvements for coverage, capacity, and quality of service.
  • Collaborate with network deployment and operations teams to ensure successful implementation of planned designs in the Northern Cape .
