Job description

Position Summary :

Under the supervision of the Radiation Oncologist, Medical Physicist, and Practice Manager, the staff Radiation Therapist accurately delivers ionizing radiation to patients according to the treatment plan and the Radiation Oncologist's instructions. The therapist will assist with all aspects of the Radiation Oncology Department, including patient care, treatment delivery, records management, radiation safety, quality assurance, and patient follow-up.

May be required to work at other locations within the Greater Sacramento Area as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications :

  • High School diploma or equivalent; graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program.
  • Registered in Radiation Therapy by the ARRT and licensed as a Radiation Therapist by the California Department of Public Health Radiologic Health Branch prior to start date if an offer is extended.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Knowledge of clinical radiation practices, radiation protection, quality assurance, patient management and care, basic dosimetry, and equipment.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Two (2) years of recent radiation therapy experience preferred.
  • Experience with ARIA or IMPAC Varian and CT simulation equipment preferred.
  • HDR brachytherapy experience preferred.
  • This position is represented by SEIU-UHW.
