Baker Tilly Montreal is looking for an Accounting Technician to join the Accounting Services group on a Part time basis.

Your primary responsibilities will include :

  • Reporting directly to the Manager, Accounting Services Department and the designated Partner assigned to the client.
  • Bookkeeping for various clients including cash receipts, cash disbursements, bank reconciliations, GST / HST / QST / DAS reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and / or yearly financial statements including all necessary adjustments.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual tax slips (T4, T5, etc.).
  • Provide back office support to our clients while implementing their accounting systems and answer questions regarding various bookkeeping issues.

Part time 2 to 3 days a week (14-21 hours).

A successful candidate will have :

  • Post-secondary education (i.e. DEC, DCS) with at least two years’ experience in accounting; preferably in an accounting firm.
  • Excellent accounting skills and knowledge of QuickBooks Online. A strong plus if certified.
  • Solid knowledge of Canada Revenue Agency and Revenue Quebec online credentials.
  • Knowledge of various online banking and payroll client platforms (ADP, Ceridian, PEO Canada, Nethris) is a major asset.
  • Bilingual (French and English), Strong communication skills.
  • Experience with sales taxes and of payroll / deductions at source.
  • Flexibility to manage workload demands, deadlines and multiple tasks, as required, and work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Great team spirit and work ethic.
