Job summary

CGC Inc. is recruiting a Quality Tester for our gypsum quarry in Little Narrows, NS. This permanent, full-time role operates on a day shift, with rotating shifts and weekend work possible as needs evolve.

The tester will perform all testing for rock production and shipping, calibrate instruments, and communicate quality information to supervision using digital tools. Safety and continuous improvement are emphasized in daily duties.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience performing testing in a lab environment is required, with preference to mining/manufacturing settings.
  • Proficiency in the use of lab equipment and advanced computer applications is required.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to deal with crucial information timely and accurately.
  • A track record of positive safety behaviors, attendance, attitude and work performance with a passion for learning new skills.
  • High school diploma is required; post-secondary education is not necessary but nice to have.

CGC Inc. is currently recruiting a Quality Tester for our gypsum quarry in Little Narrows, NS! Reporting to the Mill, Shipping & Quality Manager, this is a permanent, full-time position currently operating on a day shift schedule. Rotating shift and weekend work may be required as operational needs evolve.

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Perform all testing required for rock production and shipping
  • Calibrate quality testing instruments
  • Using various digital tools, monitor and communicate quality control information to mill and quarry supervision
  • Determine plans prior to and during ship loading procedures
  • Complete documentation and paperwork related to the ship loading process
