CGC Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our Wheatland plant in Alberta. You will perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other production equipment, following diagrams and engineering specs.

The role requires reading blueprints, working with hand and power tools, cranes and welders, and adhering to safety guidelines. You will support Lean Six Sigma improvements and may involve shift work, overtime, weekends,

Qualifications

• 3+ years journeyman mechanic or millwright experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on motors, conveyors, hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Follow diagrams, manuals, and engineering specs to diagnose issues.
• Familiarize with plant work order systems and preventive maintenance systems.
• Adhere to safety, housekeeping and Lean Six Sigma driven improvement efforts.
• Utilize hand/power tools, cranes/hoist, rigging, welders, and fall protection.
• Support shift work, overtime, weekends and on-call duties as needed.

Title: Maintenance Mechanic

CGC Inc. Is currently recruiting Maintenance Mechanics for our Wheatland plant.

• Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities necessary to keep industrial equipment operating efficiently. Tasks may include but are not limited to motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, engineering specifications, and troubleshooting malfunctions.
• Become familiar with plant work order systems and preventative maintenance systems.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, cranes/hoist, rigging equipment, welders, fall restraint, etc.
• Adhere to all safety and housekeeping requirements within the manufacturing setting.
• Embrace and contribute ideas for further enhancements for all plant safety.
• Develop and maintain good employee morale and working relationships within the department and with other departments at the plant.
• Assist with the implementation of CGC Model Programs, Safety Rules, Visual Work Inspections, etc. as required.
• Accountable for updating LEAN metrics and supporting continuous improvement efforts by using Lean Six Sigma methods to make processes more efficient and reduce waste.
• Adaptable to scheduling requirements including shiftwork, assignment of overtime, working weekends, and able to be on-call as necessary, etc. where and when applicable with advanced notice.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 3+ years Journeyman Mechanic, Millwright, or equivalent.
• Previous manufacturing experience is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, machine, electrical, and hydraulic schematics.
• Effective teamwork, problem solving, and communication skills needed with all coworkers.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Periodic travel may be required during the training period.

Additional Information

Hourly Wage: $40.00 – 48.25

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
