Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking a Quality Control Technician to execute analytical testing in support of production, R&D, and method development. You will report test results, maintain lab standards, calibrate equipment, and collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and research teams to prioritize testing and drive improvements.

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred; 2–6 years lab experience; experience with ICP-MS, XRD, XRF, SEM; ISO 9001 familiarity; strong attention to detail and SPC/MSA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred.
• 2–6 years of laboratory experience in a research or manufacturing environment required.
• Experience with instrumental analysis techniques typical of battery/inorganic materials labs (ICP-MS, XRD, XRF, BET, PSA, SEM).
• Experience performing routine analytical work efficiently with attention to detail.
• Experience training team members on analytical methods and quality processes.
• Experience in ISO 9001:2015 certified lab environments or similar; familiarity with quality conventions.
• Experience following and documenting results in electronic systems; SPC and/or MSA (Gage R&R) knowledge.
• Ability to plan, prioritize daily work with team collaboration and escalate as needed.

Front-End Day Shift: Sunday - Tuesday, Every other Wednesday, 6:00am - 6:15pm

Responsibilities

• Execute analytical testing in support of routine production, research/development work, and analytical method development
• Communicate and coordinate daily priorities with requesters and management
• Communicate roadblocks and issues to management and other stakeholders
• Maintain and improve laboratory operating standards, procedures, and systems
• Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot testing equipment

Requirements

• You as a Quality Control Technician will help create the next generation of battery materials by performing analyses on production and research/development samples. In this role you will analyze test data, report test results, and communicate unexpected results. You will communicate with our manufacturing, engineering, and research teams to coordinate testing priorities. You are someone who can multi-task to complete different analytical tests each day.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry preferred
• At least 2-6 years of laboratory experience in a research or manufacturing environment required
• Experience with one or more instrumental analysis techniques typical of a battery or inorganic materials analysis lab such as ICP-MS, XRD, XRF, BET, PSA, SEM, and others
• Experience in performing routine analytical work efficiently, consistently, and with attention to detail
• Experience training team members on analytical methods and quality processes
• Experience working in an ISO 9001:2015 certified lab environment or similar; basic familiarity with relevant quality conventions.
• Experience in following and providing feedback on written procedures and documenting results in electronic systems
• Experience participating in statistical process control (SPC) and/or measurement systems analysis (MSA), including Gage R&R
• Experience in planning and prioritizing daily work activities, collaborating with team members / internal customers, and seeking guidance as needed
• Experience in troubleshooting analytical instruments and escalating for help as needed
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and drive improvement initiatives
