Job summary

Meridian Lightweight Technologies Inc. is seeking a Quality Technician to support the Quality Engineer and production team in addressing day-to-day quality issues and ensuring adherence to the Inspection Control processes.

You will work with gauges and fixtures to perform inspections and audits. Candidates should have an associates or higher in engineering or technical diploma, a minimum of 2 years quality assurance experience within automotive manufacturing, knowledge of die casting or related

Qualifications

• Associates degree (or higher) in an engineering discipline or Technical College diploma.
• Minimum of 2 years quality assurance experience within automotive manufacturing.
• Knowledge of die casting processes (or similar i.e. injection molding, stamping).
• Certified or working towards Quality Technician Certification.

Responsibilities

• Championing Day-to-day quality issues internally and acting as liaison with the QEs and production team
• Address internal production scrap issues providing necessary guidance to identify root causes and countermeasures so problems can be eradicated
• Provide support to Quality Engineering group in the utilization of Quality Principles, problem solving tools including SPC, 8D, CA, etc.
• Performing audits to ensure system meets or continues to meet management system documents and procedures requirements

Primary purpose of position

Reporting to the Quality Technician Supervisor, the Quality Tech will assist the team and Quality Engineer to address the day to day quality issues to meet the team's requirements and the customer's expectations. To understand and be able to perform all related production inspection and audit checks per the "Inspection Control" section of the Control Plan. Be able to use all related gauges and fixtures required

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Quality Engineering group in the utilization of Quality Principles, sound problem solving tools including SPC, 8D, CA, etc.
