Job summary

Mitsui High-tec (Canada), Inc. in Brantford, ON is expanding and seeking a Quality Technician to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.

Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, you will perform visual, mechanical, and functional inspections, work with CMM and optical test equipment, read blueprints, and support audits and PFMEA/PPAP activities.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Engineering with demonstrated experience in a quality-related role.
  • Solid understanding of GD&T.
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize and multi-task.
  • Demonstrated flexibility within a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and recognize needs.
  • Computer literacy, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.
  • Superior attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections, mechanical, and functional verification of parts to ensure compliance to set specification and quality standards.
  • Competent with use of micrometers, verniers, height gauges, CMM, and Optical test equipment.
  • Study product specifications and work instructions.
  • Make independent judgements for subjective calls.
  • Follow nonconforming part procedure to identify & isolate defective material.
  • Support internal/external audit processes, as required.
  • Support cross functional problem solving activities, as required.
  • Ability to read and understand blue prints/inspection plans.
  • Support PFMEA and APQP activities, as required.
  • Support PPAP activities, as required.
  • Helps to ensure the safety of the workforce.
  • Identify problem areas, recommend, coordinate, and implement solutions.
  • Collaborates with other departments to maintain the quality system.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, the Quality Technician will be responsible for providing valuable quality support by ensuring the products meet all standards of presentation and quality.
