Job summary

Meridian Lightweight Technologies Inc. is seeking a qualified Electrician/Maintenance Technician to provide maintenance and troubleshooting support at our automotive manufacturing plants, ensuring equipment reliability and safe operation.

The ideal candidate will hold a recognized electrician certificate, have PLC and Motoman robot experience, be able to read hydraulic and electrical prints, and thrive in a fast-paced, safety‑conscious environment with a rotating shift schedule and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Electrician certificate and Red Seal.
• Experience in a die cast, automotive or manufacturing environment.
• Arc flash training or hands-on experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and repairing plant equipment and performing preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Maintaining and repairing plant equipment and performing preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Preparing and maintaining records of program changes, building electrical upgrades and equipment electrical upgrades. Maintain daily record of work completed.
• Applying and meeting all applicable codes, standards and/or regulations when doing work

Job Summary

You will be primarily responsible for providing maintenance and troubleshooting support to the manufacturing plants, maintain equipment and perform preventative maintenance in a safe manner.

Major responsibilities of position

• Maintaining and repairing plant equipment and performing preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Maintaining and repairing plant equipment and performing preventative maintenance on equipment and facilities.
• Preparing and maintaining records of program changes, building electrical upgrades and equipment electrical upgrades. Maintain daily record of work completed.
• Applying and meeting all applicable codes, standards and/or regulations when doing work

Education, experience, skills

• Certificate of Qualification, Certificate of Apprenticeship (Electrician) Red Seal, 309a, 442a ticket
• Experience in a die cast, automotive, or manufacturing environment
• Arc flash formal training or at least 1 year hands‑on experience
• Experience working with Motoman robots and PLC experience
• Be able to read hydraulic, electrical prints

Shift schedule

Week One: 5 Day shifts Monday - Friday, 8 hour shifts (7am - 3pm)

+ Weekend Off

Week two: 5 Afternoon Shifts Monday - Friday, 8 hour shifts (3pm - 11pm)

+ Weekend Off

Week three: 5 Midnight Shifts Monday - Friday, 8 hour shifts (11pm - 7am)

+ 2 Midnight Shifts Saturday / Sunday, 12 hour shifts (11pm - 11am)

Week four: 5 Days Off, Monday - Friday

+ 2 Afternoon Shifts Saturday /Sunday, 12 hour shifts (11am - 11pm)

Week five: 7 Days Off

The two 12 hour shifts constitute 40 hours of pay.
