Job summary

Evertz Microsystems in Burlington, Ontario, is seeking a Quality Assurance professional to perform diverse inspections and maintain calibration records. You will investigate non-conformances, manage CAPAs, and support audits in a high-reliability electronics environment.

The role requires knowledge of IPC/ISO standards, root cause analysis, and experience with ERP/QMS software. In-office position with strong growth in a global broadcast technology company.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Electronics, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • 3-5 years of quality experience in electronics manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, IPC standards, and PCB assembly (SMT and through-hole).
  • Experience with root cause analysis and CAPA.
  • Ability to read schematics, assembly drawings, and BOMs.
  • Strong analytical skills; proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/QMS software.
  • Experience in broadcast, pro A/V, telecom, or other high-reliability electronics is an asset.
  • Internal or supplier auditing experience is an asset.
  • IPC-A-610/J-STD-001 certification; ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, CQT) or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt is an asset.
  • Knowledge of FMEA, SPC, MSA, Gauge R&R, and ESD control is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspection to IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001; review test and burn-in results; maintain calibration records
  • Investigate non-conformances, RMAs, and field failures (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA); manage CAPAs and MRB activities
  • Maintain ISO 9001-aligned procedures, work instructions, and records; support internal and external audits
  • Support supplier qualification and scorecards; resolve supplier issues including counterfeit risk, obsolescence, and PCN/EOL notices
  • Participate in design reviews, DFM/DFT, and first article inspections; support qualification testing and compliance (CE, UL/CSA, FCC, RoHS, REACH, WEEE)
  • Analyze quality metrics (FPY, DPPM, RMA trends, COPQ) using SPC; support Lean and Six Sigma initiatives
