Role Overview
We’re currently hiring for a Quality Product Tester (Quality Control Technician II) for our Edmonton Manufacturing Plant. In this role, you’ll be challenged to think on your feet, learn on the job, and improve daily with the support of a team that always has your back. At the core of this position is understanding and meeting our customers’ needs.
Responsibilities:
- Testing of incoming materials and finished products to ensure quality standards.
- Conducting tests on products, components, and systems to ensure they meet quality specifications, including functionality, durability, and safety.
- Perform standardized tests, measurements, and inspections using both manual techniques and testing equipment.
- Conduct chamber tests on random finished products and prototype samples, focusing on air and water testing.
- Follow testing protocols, update documentation, and prepare detailed reports, including test plans, results, and corrective actions.
- Check the dimensions of finished products against CAD drawings.
- Monitor production lines to ensure compliance with quality standards and product specifications.
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams to communicate test findings, troubleshoot potential issues, and resolve quality concerns.
- Record test results accurately and identify deviations from required quality standards.
- Populate scheduled analysis reports and document testing, findings, and investigations.
- Contribute to process improvements aimed at enhancing product quality and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies throughout all testing and quality assurance processes.
- Act as a backup to Quality Technician positions as necessary and provide support in the training and development of new QC Technicians.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma or related training is an asset.
- Manufacturing/production experience in a large-scale multi-cultural manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience in testing and quality control preferred.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English is required to follow instructions and ensure safety compliance.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD/technical specifications, manuals, and diagrams.
- Ability to use and interpret metric and imperial systems.
- Time-management and prioritizing skills.
- Able to accurately use precision metrology measurement equipment.
- Proficiency with data recording and reporting tools (Excel, ERP systems, etc.).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to lift and move weight safely up to 50 lbs individually and 150 lbs for teams.
- Candidates must be able to visit customer sites as required to conduct on-site testing, inspections, and quality assessments. Travel may be periodic or as needed based on project or customer requirements.
