Banded Peak Brewing is looking for a Quality Manager to join the supply team.

The position will be Monday – Friday working 40 hours a week and will require some flexibility. The Quality Manager will report to the plant manager and support the other teams in the supply department.

Prior QA experience or education is strongly encouraged. The ideal candidate is a reliable self-starter who is comfortable working on their own while supporting the policies, goals and safety practices of Banded Peak Brewing.

Job Summary:

Banded Peak strives to be an industry leader in quality beer and manufacturing practices. Products are adventurous in nature and require full attention to detail during the brewing process and into package. Banded Peak strives to be Alberta’s number one choice for craft beer. As a quality manager you will be required to sample and identify any quality issues within the brewery, maintain current QA programs as well as develop new ones, plus have a strong understanding of experimental trials, record keeping and reporting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as a leader for the brewery in terms of ensuring quality standards and compliance to quality specifications.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain critical control points to ensure excellent process and product quality by performing studies and statistical analysis.
  • Ensure quality standard operating procedures (SOPs) are being followed.
  • Enforce and promote safe working practices.
  • Ensure compliance to company audit programs as well as to audits required by external parties.
  • Liaise with other departments and coordinate activities related to quality.
  • Measure/champion/facilitate corrective actions for improving quality systems which are initiated from holds, process trends and consumer complaint feedback.
  • Facilitate training (or train) operators and managers on quality systems and issues where applicable.
  • Ensure all rework for holds are engaged and completed on time to ensure quality warehouse specifications are maintained.
  • Coach salaried employees on their roles and responsibilities as well as developing employees through the normal performance evaluation process.
  • Investigate all consumer complaints and take necessary follow up action.

Preferred Skills And Qualifications:

  • University Degree in Science or a food related discipline.
  • Previous experience in a quality function within the food and beverage industry.
  • Good understanding of the brewing and packaging process.
  • Strong team player with the ability to build solid relationships at all levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Technical and problem-solving skills (demonstrated level of skill in data collection and analysis).
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft office tools.
  • Strong leadership skills.
