Job summary

Norsat International Inc. in Canada is seeking a Quality Engineer to coordinate investigations, troubleshoot issues, and manage calibration of test equipment within a manufacturing setting.

You will lead CAPA initiatives for internal, customer, and supplier issues, while driving data analysis of quality trends and ongoing process improvements. The role requires engineering education or equivalent experience, with at least 2 years in quality control/assurance, familiarity with ISO standards, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 5+ years of equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years in quality control/quality assurance in manufacturing.
• Demonstrable knowledge of manufacturing processes and production equipment.
• Knowledge of quality system methodologies; ISO 9001 familiarity is expected.
• ASQ CQE certification is an asset.
• Experience with project management and Lean Six Sigma principles.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings; data analysis using Excel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate root cause investigations for internal and external issues.
• Track and review corrective and preventive actions using CAPA.
• Conduct audits, create reports, and determine corrective actions.
• Analyze root causes and implement corrective actions for processes or parts.
• Develop and manage data analysis of product quality trends.
• Manage testing equipment calibration program.
• Identify quality improvement parameters using relevant statistical methods.
• Interpret manufacturing audits including ISO 9001 and other standards.
• Support new product launches with compliance to established standards.
• Assist in supplier qualification and monitoring activities.
• Support quality goals and resolve quality issues; perform other duties as assigned.
