Job summary

PNR RailWorks seeks a Quality Coordinator to enforce a rigorous QA/QC system across projects. You will author and audit quality policies, manage compliance with ISO 9001, and work with the Quality Manager to align QMS with company standards.

You will support ITP development, oversee inspections, and address client NCRs while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and traveling as needed.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering or related field; a Bachelor's in Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of quality experience in construction projects.
  • Certifications in Quality such as Six Sigma would be considered an asset.
  • Good knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and QA/QC processes.
  • Proficient with MS Office and documentation practices.
  • Must possess sound judgment, organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel with a valid driving license and work nights/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in developing and implementing quality management procedures per company and client obligations.
  • Assists in developing, reviewing, and overseeing Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Oversees quality testing and inspections to minimize risk and improve the quality system.
  • Responsible for quality auditing to ensure compliance with tests, standards, and specs.
  • Investigates, reports, tracks, and closes client NCRs and work deficiencies.
  • Presents regular status reports to the Quality Manager and Project Director.
  • Assists in evaluating supplier performance against project requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary

This position will work closely with PNR Quality Manager to ensure that the Project’s Quality Management System is aligned with the company’s Quality Management System (QMS).

Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assists in the development and implementation of quality management procedures in consistence with the policies of both PNR RailWorks and/or client contractual obligations, including project-specific quality plans, procedures, work methodologies and work instructions.

    Assists the Quality Manager in developing, reviewing, and overseeing the Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) to identify the applicable inspection, tests, and monitoring activities to be performed to confirm that the work complies with the acceptance criteria.

    Assists the Quality Manager in overseeing quality testing and inspections; evaluating applicable activities through reviews, audits, assessments and inspections to minimize risk and improve the effectiveness of the project’s quality management system.

    Responsible for the quality auditing function to ensure compliance with all tests and inspections are completed as per the latest applicable standards, project requirements and specifications.

    Works with the Quality Manager to develop and audit work processes ensuring all project-specific assets on thecustomer’sproperty are maintained as per the current best practices. This includes state of good repair and housekeeping.

    Works with PNR’s Quality Manager to investigate, report, track, and closeout client complaints. This includes external and internal Non-compliance Reports (NCRs) and work deficiencies.

    Presents regular status reports for all areas of responsibility to the Quality Manager and Project Director for review prior submitting to the Client.

    Assists the Quality Manager in reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating supplier’s performance, interim and final deliverables for adherence to project requirements.

    Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Post-Secondary education in Engineering, Quality or any other related field.Bachelor’s in engineering is preferred.

    Minimum of 1 year of related experience in quality in construction projects.

    Certifications such as Quality Engineer, Quality Lead Auditor/Auditor, Quality Improvement Associate and Six Sigma would be considered an asset.

    Good knowledge level regarding construction/maintenance techniques and practices, contract administration, construction inspection, the Construction Lien Act, the OHRC, and the Ontario Health & Safety Act.

    Competent knowledge of the ISO 9001 requirements.

    Experience with Microsoft Office Products is required.

    Must possess a sound judgment with developed organizational, interpersonal, oral/written communication, and analytical/problem solvingskills.

    Demonstrated ability to work with multi-disciplined teams while dealing with complex issues and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to work as a member of a largemulti companyorganization.

    Ability to assess and reorganize priorities to suit changing requirements.

    Must have a valid driving license with a clean driving record and ability to travel as required.

    Availability to worknights / weekends, as needed.
