Job summary

PCL Construction Management Inc. in Edmonton, Alberta is seeking a Quality Coordinator for project-based contracts to ensure the highest standards of quality and compliance on complex construction projects.

You will collaborate with project teams, trade partners, and clients to deliver exceptional results. The role involves reviewing contracts, managing ITPs, overseeing inspections and tests, and coordinating QA/QC activities with field management.

Qualifications

  • Tradesperson or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of quality control experience in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of ITPs, NCRs, and quality documentation requirements.
  • Experience with field inspections, testing, and verification activities.
  • General knowledge of the construction industry; understands specs, methods and procedures.
  • Knowledge of concrete and asphalt materials, including testing procedures and acceptance criteria.
  • Knowledge of codes related to the construction industry.
  • Strong planning, organizational and time-management skills with ability to multitask.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and ability to build stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews prime contract and subcontract details for specs and requirements.
  • Performs quality activities per contract terms and conditions.
  • Reviews project specifications and identifies quality requirements.
  • Performs visual examinations, witnesses, monitors and documents per ITPs.
  • Observes installed equipment to determine hazards and needed changes.
  • Produces and collects quality turnover documentation.
  • Acts as liaison with craft personnel for technical assistance.
  • Verifies trade contractor compliance to quality programs and documents.
  • Plans QA/QC activities with construction activities.
  • Assists in planning and documenting mock-ups.
  • Works with field management to protect finished work.
  • Stays current with industry practices and technologies.
  • Develops and maintains strong customer-focused relationships.

  • Plans and coordinates daily Quality Assurance/Quality Coordinator (QA/QC) activities with construction activities.
  • Assists in the planning and documentation of mock-ups.
  • Works with field management to ensure the protection of finished work.
  • Stays current with industry practices and technologies and seeks new and innovative construction methods and processes.
  • Develops and maintains strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
Qualifications
