Job summary

Iconic Power Systems is looking for a Quality Coordinator to ensure adherence to the Quality Management System. This role requires strong leadership skills in quality assurance for high voltage construction projects.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction quality control, possess a Journeyman Electrician with Red Seal Endorsement, and be proficient in Microsoft tools. The position involves a mix of office and field work, requiring excellent communication skills and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in construction and quality assurance.
  • Experience in High Voltage Construction.
  • 1+ years providing quality oversight in a construction environment.

Responsibilities

  • Implement client-specific quality requirements.
  • Conduct inspections and tests as required.
  • Monitor subcontractor quality control processes.

Skills

Ability to Read and interpret engineered drawings
Ability to use hand tools and testing equipment
Knowledge of substation construction and quality control
Ability to influence field staff regarding quality assurance procedures

Summary

Reporting to the Quality Supervisor of Iconic Power Systems, the Quality Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS) are implemented and adhered to. He/she helps to plan, implement, monitor and review the proactive and preventative measures that the company is required or choose to follow, and works to minimize operational losses whilst maintaining a high standard of quality.

Qualifications
  • PSE designation considered an asset.
  • PLT designation considered an asset.
  • Journeyman Electrician with Red Seal Endorsement designation considered an asset.
  • Formal construction management training from a recognized technical institute considered an asset.
  • ISO 9001 or 27001 training considered an asset.
  • ASET qualifications considered an asset.
  • 5+ years of construction experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience quality assurance and quality control experience.
  • Experience in High Voltage Construction
  • 3+ years of Substation quality assurance
  • Previous supervisory experience at the crew lead, foreperson, or supervisor level considered an asset

1+ years providing quality oversight and control in a construction related environment

Skills
  • Ability to Read and interpret engineered drawings for civil/electrical/ and structural applications
  • Ability to use hand tools and testing equipment
  • Knowledge of substation construction and associated quality control hold points.
  • Ability to influence field staff regarding quality assurance procedures.
  • Ability to interpret and Understand client technical specifications and turnover requirements.
  • Ability to build relationships with client.
  • Proficient in the use of Word, Excel and Microsoft Office 365 Suite of product
  • Ability to Communicate with other personnel and mentor in the execution of Quality related requirements, standards and testing
Duties
  • Understand client specific quality requirements and implement on project as appropriate.
  • Work with client quality coordinator/ representative to identify, agree and deliver all client related reports.
  • Control, initiate and conduct any inspections and tests required by the ITP.
  • Liaison with and monitor Subcontractor installations and quality control processes.
  • Development of Project specific ITPs as required.
  • Reviewing and approving of subcontractor ITPs.
  • When on-site support the site supervisor with the receiving and inspection of material.
  • When onsite support the site supervisor with the receiving of Client document transmittals.
  • When on-site support the site supervisor in the development of RFI’s. Particularly ones associated with quality specifications and standards.
  • Report and track all deficiencies.
  • Initiating NCRs as required by the QMS.
  • When on-site support the site supervisor with the development and submittal of all contractual project deliverables associated with quality binders and turnover.
  • Attending site meetings when required to represent the company on quality matters.
  • Maintaining quality related folders on the Iconic drives.
  • Attending site meetings when required to represent the company on quality matters.
  • provide additional support for the supervisor concerning items Related to Quality Control program and the Iconic QMS requirements Perform project quality audits during the life of a project.
Other
  • Must have a valid driver’s licence.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Position is office and field work.
