Job summary

Iconic Power Systems in Bracebridge is seeking a skilled Journeyperson to foster a culture of construction excellence and ensure safe, efficient job site operations. Key responsibilities include coaching apprentices, adhering to safety policies, and collaborating with supervisors to meet client expectations.

The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in high voltage electrical construction and a Journeyperson PLT. Strong communication skills and a valid Class 5 Driver's License are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Knowledge in underground, overhead, substations, and/or streetlighting.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and uphold core Iconic values.
  • Coach and model positive behavior for apprentices.
  • Provide scheduled after‑hours/on‑call support.
  • Lead daily tailboard meetings.
  • Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot electrical issues.

Skills

Knowledgeable in electrical distribution systems

Summary

Journeypersons’ foster an environment of construction execution excellence, as well as building a culture of providing solutions, not problems. They are responsible for the organization of the day‑to‑day activities on the job site. Journeypersons’ will ensure that activities are being completed safely and efficiently all while upholding a strong dedication to quality. They will be proficient in all areas of electrical maintenance and construction. Journeyperson’s will work closely with the Construction Manager and Supervisors to ensure that projects are profitable and delivered on time.

Qualifications
  • Journeyperson PLT
  • 4+ years' experience as a Journeyperson involved in high voltage, electrical or distribution construction
Skills
  • Knowledgeable in electrical distribution systems: underground, overhead, substations, and/or streetlighting.
  • Skilled in coaching and mentoring apprentices.
  • Proficient with computer software such as Excel, Word, and PDF editors.
  • Possess the ability to communicate clearly and effectively while building strong relationships with colleagues, and the public.
Duties
Leadership
  • Demonstrate and uphold core Iconic values.
  • Coach and model positive behavior in safety, conduct, and mentorship for apprentices.
Operations
  • Utilize Iconic-provided software and Apple products daily.
  • Provide scheduled after‑hours/on‑call support.
  • Lead and participate in daily tailboard meetings.
  • Complete required daily safety documentation (FLHA).
  • Diagnose, repair, and troubleshoot electrical issues.
  • Review and adhere to project safety and environmental policies.
  • Understand project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Submit daily timesheets through ADP.
  • Collaborate with Supervisor to ensure client expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Identify and report potential changes in project scope to Supervisor.
Other
  • Must have a Class 5 Driver's License
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
