Quality Control Technician Nuclear Manufacturing Permanent

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Quality Control Technician to support our Field Services projects. Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with the quality program requirements by performing independent verification of quality-related inspections and supporting project quality assurance activities.

This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong NDE and quality inspection background who enjoy working in dynamic field environments and contributing to projects where quality, safety, and regulatory compliance are paramount.

What You'll Do

As a Quality Control Technician, you will:

• Perform moderately complex technical assignments in support of ongoing quality programs.
• Monitor project processes through Manufacturing and Inspection Test Plans (MITPs).
• Verify adherence to approved procedures during project execution.
• Maintain and verify employee training records using electronic systems and hard-copy records.
• Perform material receipt inspections and in-process inspections to ensure compliance with company standards, technical specifications, and ASME Code requirements.
• Support the review and completion of Work Packages and History Dockets.
• Assist with the review of procedures and MITPs.
• Conduct vendor source inspections as required.
• Perform Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) activities where permitted by union jurisdictions.
• Work closely with Site Managers, Field Engineers, Authorized Inspectors, and project teams to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Support quality activities in industrial and radiological environments.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma in NDE (Non-Destructive Examination), Quality Technology, or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience in quality control, inspection, or NDE.
• Strong knowledge of inspection processes and quality control methodologies.
• Ability to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and radiation-controlled environments.
• Willingness to travel extensively (up to 70%) across project locations.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, statutory holidays, and extended hours when required.

Preferred Assets

• CGSB Level 2 Certification in Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) or other NDE methods.
• CWB Level 1 or Level 2 Certification.
• Experience working with ASME Codes and standards.
• Previous quality control experience in heavy industrial, manufacturing, power generation, or nuclear environments.

Security Clearance Requirement

• This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance. The clearance process is conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.
