Job summary

BWXT Canada Ltd. in Ontario seeks a Quality Control Technician to verify quality program compliance on Field Services projects. You will work with Site Managers, Field Engineers, and Authorized Inspectors to uphold BWXT quality and safety standards, reporting to the Quality Control Manager.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary diploma in NDE or Quality Technology, or related education.
  • 3–5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • CGSB Level 2 certification in Liquid Penetrant or other NDE methods are an asset.
  • CWB Level 1 or 2 certification considered an asset.
  • Strong NDE background with knowledge of inspection processes; familiarity with ASME Code preferred.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces and radiation environments.
  • Willing to travel extensively (up to 70%) and work nights, weekends, and statutory holidays, with potential for extended hours (70+ per week).
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

As our Quality Control Technician, you will ensure compliance with BWXT’s quality program requirements on Field Services projects by performing independent verification of quality-related inspections. Reporting to the Quality Control Manager, this role works closely with Site Managers, Field Engineers, and Authorized Inspectors to maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.

Your Day To Day As Quality Control Technician
  • Undertake moderately complex technical assignments in support of activities that are part of an ongoing quality program
Perform Quality Control Duties On Projects/sites Including

Security Clearance

This role requires the successful candidate to complete the security clearance process. The security clearance process is conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements of the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS) and the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) and may take up to 12 months to complete.

The base salary range for this position in Ontario (CA-ON) at the start of employment is expected to be between $68,000 and $91,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits.
