Job summary

AAA Canada seeks a qualified and safety-focused Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) UT Specialist to join our Quality team in Canada. You will perform NDE inspections to verify product quality and compliance with standards and customer requirements, bringing strong technical expertise and meticulous attention to detail.

The role includes performing NDE UT per certifications, inspecting manufacturing environments, interpreting drawings, maintaining accurate inspection reports, and supporting

Qualifications

  • NDE certifications from CGSB, AWS, or CWB required.
  • Proven experience in fabrication/inspection environments preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform NDE UT based on certifications held and as required.
  • Read, interpret, and verify technical drawings, specs and procedures.
  • Prepare, maintain, and file accurate inspection reports and quality records.
  • Review and document inspection findings to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
  • Support QA activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and comply with health and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams.

Job description

We are seeking a qualified and safety-focused Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) UT Specialist to join our Quality team. In this role, you will perform a variety of non-destructive examinations and inspection activities to verify product quality and compliance with applicable standards, codes, and customer requirements. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform non-destructive examinations (NDE) based on certifications held.
  • Conduct inspections throughout the manufacturing environment in accordance with established procedures and standards.
  • Read, interpret, and verify technical drawings, specifications, procedures, and other documentation.
  • Prepare, maintain, and file accurate inspection reports and quality records.
  • Review and document inspection findings, ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
  • Support quality assurance activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and comply with all health and safety procedures.
  • Demonstrate high standards of workmanship, professionalism, and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate effectively with production, quality, and engineering teams.
Qualifications
  • NDE certifications from a recognized governing body such as CGSB, AWS, or CWB.
  • Must possess:

Plus at least two (2) of the following:

  • CEDO
  • Minimum five (5) years of Fabrication and/or Machining Inspector experience with documented industry experience
  • Minimum five (5) years of fitting and/or welding experience
  • Certified Weld Inspector designation (AWS-CWI or CWB Level 2)

  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with inspection documentation and reporting systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to quality, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within the nuclear power industry or other highly regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Positive, collaborative team player with a strong work ethic and willingness to go the extra mile to meet customer expectations.
Shift Requirements

Candidates must be available to work any of the following shifts:

  • Weekday Days: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Weekday Afternoons: Monday to Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
  • Weekend Days: Friday to Sunday, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (paid for 40 hours)
  • Weekend Afternoons: Friday to Sunday, 5:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. (paid for 40 hours)
